RECOMMENDATION
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Please refer a discussion to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee (“PSNQLC”) to discuss and take action regarding concerns raised by residents and patrons about the current conditions at the North Shore Branch Public Library.
Specifically, there is a need for a security guard or dedicated police officer at the site due to safety concerns, along with longstanding issues related to a broken air conditioning system and an unrepaired window, which have made the facility uncomfortable and potentially unsafe for staff and visitors.
I would like the PSNQLC to evaluate these concerns and make recommendations to the Mayor and City Commission on potential actions the City can take to ensure the library is a safe, secure, and well-maintained public resource for the community.
