RECOMMENDATION

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

ANALYSIS

Please place on the next available agenda a referral to the Land Use and Sustainability Committee (LUSC) to discuss possible legislation increasing distance requirements for adult material shops.

Specifically, I would like the committee to discuss, with the aid of the City Administration and the City Attorney’s Office, the following possible legislative items: • Increasing the minimum buffer from schools, religious institutions, and residential neighborhoods from 300 feet to at least 1,000 feet. • Evaluating whether additional distance requirements should be established for other sensitive locations. • Reviewing enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance with updated regulations.
