RECOMMENDATION

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

The City of Miami Beach is home to 44 parks, offering open space, recreation, and community gathering areas across our neighborhoods. To enhance the visitor experience and activate our public spaces, this referral proposes a discussion on the feasibility of establishing food and beverage concession kiosks at select city parks. The Administration should be prepared to present to the Committee: · An inventory and analysis of parks that could accommodate kiosks without disrupting park character or programming · Procurement and permitting options for temporary and/or permanent vendors · Criteria for selecting appropriate vendors, with a preference for small, local, and minority-owned businesses · Operational considerations including hours, trash management, safety, and ADA compliance · Opportunities to pilot this initiative at a few parks before a broader rollout

ANALYSIS

Please place on the May 21, 2025 agenda a referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee (the “Committee”) to discuss potential to conduct a procurement for food and beverage concession kiosks at select city parks.
