BACKGROUND/HISTORY

ANALYSIS

I would like to propose an allocation of $1,500 in the FY 2026 budget to support Senior Bingo Nights at Federation Towers, and I am requesting that this item be discussed during our upcoming FY 2026 budget workshop.

I had the pleasure of attending the recent Mother’s Day celebration at Federation Towers. During my visit, the building manager expressed concern about the future of their weekly bingo sessions, which are at risk due to a lack of funding.

These weekly bingo nights are more than just a recreational activity—they offer a vital opportunity for socialization, community-building, and joy among the senior residents. To continue offering these sessions on a consistent basis, an annual contribution of $1,500 is needed. This modest investment can have a meaningful impact on the well-being and quality of life of our senior community members.
