RECOMMENDATION

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Please place on the June 25, 2025 agenda a referral to the Animal Welfare Committee to discuss humane relocation of the duck population in North Beach area.

Several North Beach residents have reported growing concerns about an over-abundance of ducks in certain areas of North Beach. I request that the advisory Committee discuss practical, ethical strategies for relocating or managing the duck population—such as coordination with licensed wildlife-rescue groups, habitat modifications, or public-education campaigns—and provide recommendations to the City Commission.
