ANALYSIS
Please refer a discussion to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee (“PSNQLC”) to evaluate and recommend actions to pursue local control over Ocean Drive.
The Art Deco Neighborhood Association (ADNA) has put forth a motion advocating for Miami Beach to take full control of its destiny and Ocean Drive, emphasizing the need for local autonomy. Given current legal limitations, the most viable course of action would be to formally urge Miami-Dade County to amend its Code or take other steps necessary to grant control over Ocean Drive to the City.
I would like the PSNQLC to discuss and make recommendations to the Mayor and City Commission regarding this important matter.
