COMMISSION MEMORANDUM
RECOMMENDATION
Please place the above item on the City Commission meeting agenda as a referral to the Land Use and Sustainability Committee (βLUSCβ).
Currently, the placement of a temporary surface parking lot on a property in a historic district requires the review and approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Historic Preservation Board (βHPBβ).
In light of the significant demand for parking in the Cityβs historic districts, I would like the LUSC to discuss amending the Land Development Regulations to allow for administrative review and approval of parking lots in historic districts on a temporary basis, subject to conditions. Eligibility should be limited to vacant properties.
