REFERRAL TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS WHAT INITIATIVES THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH IS TAKING IN ORDER TO BECOME MORE FESTIVE FOR NATIONAL/GLOBAL EVENTS SUCH AS THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL (CFB) CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TAKING PLACE IN JANUARY 2026.

RECOMMENDATION

Please place on the September 3, 2025 agenda a referral to the Public Safety and Quality of Life Committee (the β€œCommittee”) to discuss the different initiatives the City of Miami Beach is taking in order to become a more festive, clean, welcoming place for national/global events such as the College Football (CFB) Championship Game that will take place at Hard Rock Stadium on January 19 th , 2026.

It is important to note that even though the game itself will not be within city limits, large amounts of college football or either of the classifying teams fans will be staying as guests in our city. A Fan Zone similar to the Orange Bowl organized fan zone on Lincoln Road should be discussed as well.
