COMMISSION MEMORANDUM
TITLE:
DISCUSS/TAKE ACTION REGARDING MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT STAFFING.
RECOMMENDATION
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
As reflected in Letter to Commission (โLTCโ) No. 376-2025, which is attached hereto, the Miami Beach Police Department (the โPolice Departmentโ) is anticipated to achieve full staffing by the end of September 2025. I believe this is an important milestone that merits discussion with the City Commission.
Ensuring adequate police personnel and resources is not only essential to maintaining public safety and quality of life in the City, but also directly impacts both our officersโ effectiveness and the well-being of our residents and visitors. As such, I would like to take this opportunity to discuss this matter and what it means for our community and the Police Department moving forward.
