RECOMMENDATION

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Please place on the October 29th, 2025 agenda a referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee to discuss establishing a farmers’ market and constructing a canopy structure to provide shade for vendors and customers.

The proposed farmers market would give residents year-round access to fresh locally grown produce and artisan goods. This initiative supports the city’s goal of promoting healthy living, neighborhood engagement, and small local businesses.

The administration should be ready to present: • Potential locations; • Logistics and vendor coordination needs; • Design and cost estimates for a canopy structure; • Public safety and permitting requirements; and • Partnership opportunities with local farms and organizations
