RECOMMENDATION
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Please place on the City Commission meeting agenda a referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee (βPSNQLCβ) to discuss the future use of the property at 7505 Collins Avenue, which is currently the site of the North Shore Branch Library, as a public park.
As the City moves forward with plans to relocate the North Shore Branch Library to the proposed 72nd Street Community Center, I would like the PSNQLC to discuss designating the existing library site as a public park once the relocation is complete.
The discussion should include: β’ The potential designation of the site as a permanent park space. β’ Community programming options for the park, including the feasibility of incorporating a splash pad or other family-friendly amenities. This referral is intended to ensure early community input and coordination between City departments, as the City plans for the future of this important public property.
