Economic Development March 19, 2025 C4 U Motion By Acclamation: Conclude the item and provide the following recommendations to the City Commission: a. The administration shall conduct visual audits of storefronts in the City. b. The administration shall increase and enhance engagement and educational efforts regarding compliance with city regulations and standards related to storefronts, and leverage communication channels to improve messaging. c. The administration shall further collaboration efforts and partnerships with Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and related organizations to explore potential methods to incentivize, promote and acknowledge properties proactively working to improve the appearance of business corridors and/or storefronts. d. The Code Compliance Department shall further existing compliance efforts as follows: I. Provide more flexibility regarding compliance with storefront related violations; II. Explore conducting weeks, on a quarterly basis; III. Create a checklist of how to comply with storefront regulations; IV. Establish follow up goals; and V. Explore the viability of extending response and compliance periods with the City Office. e. The administration shall Include the orever cover portfolio of approved designs, as an option for property owner utilization.
