RECOMMENDATION

Please place on the upcoming agenda a referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee to consider adding benches to existing shaded areas within Bayshore Park.

These shaded zones already serve as natural gathering points for residents and visitors, offering relief from the sun in Miami Beach’c climate. By strategically placing benches in these areas, we can encourage longer stays, improve accessibility for seniors and families, and support passive recreation.

I propose that the Parks and Recreation Department evaluate opportunities to install durable, aesthetically pleasing seating in these shaded locations. This initiative would complement the ongoing wayfinding signage project and further the City’s goals of equitable access, environmental stewardship, and quality of life enhancement.
